APSC CCE Syllabus 2023: Prelims 

Preliminary Examination:

The Preliminary Examination of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2023 consists of two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II. The exam pattern and syllabus are as follows:

Paper-I:1. General Studies   a. Indian Polity and Governance   b. Indian Economy   c. History and Culture of India   d. Geography of India and Assam   e. General Science and Technology   f. Current Events of National and International Importance   g. Assam and its Political History   h. Assam's Economy and Geography   i. Assam's Culture, Literature, and Heritage

Paper-II:1. One Optional Subject (to be chosen from the list provided by APSC)

Mains Examination:

The Mains Examination of the APSC CCE 2023 consists of the following papers:

1. Paper-I: General English2. Paper-II: General Studies-I   a. Indian History and Culture   b. Indian Polity   c. Geography of India and Assam   d. General Science and Technology

3. Paper-III: General Studies-II   a. Indian Economy   b. Environment and Ecology   c. Disaster Management   d. Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude

4. Paper-IV: General Studies-III   a. Indian Constitution and its Salient Features   b. Governance and Public Administration   c. Science and Technology   d. Statistical Analysis

5. Paper-V: General Studies-IV   a. Philosophy   b. Psychology   c. Sociology   d. Anthropology

6. Paper-VI: Any two optional subjects (to be chosen from the list provided by APSC)

Interview:

Candidates who qualify the Mains Examination will be called for the Interview round. The Interview assesses the candidate's personality, knowledge, and understanding of various issues.

Negative Marking Policy:

In the Preliminary Examination, there will be a negative marking of one-third (1/3) marks for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

APSC CCE Syllabus 2023: Prelims Exam Pattern and Detailed Syllabus

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has released the APSC CCE Syllabus 2023, along with the exam pattern and official recruitment notification. Aspirants are advised to commence their preparations early and thoroughly understand the APSC CCE Syllabus 2023. The selection process for candidates will involve a rigorous procedure comprising a preliminary exam, a main exam, and a personal interview. This year, there have been changes to the preliminary exam pattern, with the removal of optional papers. As a result, the total marks for the main exam have been revised to 1775 from the previous 2275.

Paper I:- Current Affairs: National and International current events, Awards, Sports, Discoveries, etc.- Indian National Movement: National Renaissance, Early uprising against British rule, Indian National Congress, Emergence of National leaders, Growth of Satyagraha and Militant Movements, Communalism and partition.- Indian History: Medieval India, Establishment of the British and 1857 revolt, INC, Swadeshi Movement, Role of Newspapers and Journals, Mahatma Gandhi, Extremist Movement in India, Indian After Independence, Reorganisation of States, India’s Foreign Policy, Development in the Field of Science and Technology, Education, Health and Infrastructure, Political History of India Post 1951.- General Science: Physics (Gravitation, Light, Motion, Volume, Weight, etc.), Chemistry (Metals and Non-Metals, Acid and Base, Chemical Reaction, etc.), Biology (Human Body, Disease and Bacteria, etc.).

Paper II:- Reasoning: Logical Venn Diagrams, Directions, Number, Ranking & Time, Sequence, Figural Pattern, Cubes and Dice, Analogies, Arrangements, Arithmetical Reasoning, Mathematical Operations, Number Series, Number Ranking, Figurative Classification, Classification, Blood Relations, Venn diagrams, Non-Verbal Series, Coding-Decoding.- English: Idioms and Phrases, Fill in the Blanks, Error Spotting, Comprehension Passages, One-Word Substitution, Grammar, Vocabulary, Synonyms/Antonyms, Cloze Test.- Quantitative Aptitude: Time and Work, Mixture & Allegation, Discounts, Number Systems, Pipes and Cisterns, H.C.F. and L.C.M, Profit and Loss, Average, Percentages, Problems on Ages, Time and Distance, Ratio and Proportion, Boats and Streams, Simple & Compound Interest, Data Interpretation.- Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal Skills & Communication Skills, Analytical Ability, General Mental Ability, Problem Solving.
